Well, Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Man, it just doesn't seem like it's time for thanksgiving already. The weather has been so warm this fall, it's deceiving.
I sure am seeing more home buying activity recently. Now that the news is starting to die down about mortgages and property taxes. So, for all you would be seller's that's a good sign, right?
The House passed H.R. 3915 last week, which is a mortgage reform bill. Overall, I think it has a lot of good provisions for consumers and really helps weed out the riff raf (so to speak). It also modifies the Good Faith Estimate to a version more like the one I use already, because it displays the costs in a better and more understandable way. It also has the details of the loan, like payment, who's paying what and the terms of the loan. Anyways, I'll have more on this subject later, as we pick the whole bill apart. For now, let's eat and give thanks for all the things we are blessed with.
Yesterday I quickly updated my blog with some Thanksgiving sentiment, but lying in bed this morning, I was thinking of all the things I am grateful for and decided that I would do a second post on the subject. I hope that it doesn't sound too sappy or corny, but I felt it important, to express my genuine thanks for all that I have.
I am so very thankful (really), I have been blessed beyond what I would have hoped for, if it were up to me. Maybe this isn't the place to do it, but I thank God, each and every day for the things he has given me and my family. I am thankful for my Beautiful wife, my wonderful six month old daughter, my youngest son who is smart as a tack & whom I've had the opportunity to raise full time instead of just on weekends and my oldest two children, who even though they may not realize it, I love very much.
It has been a pretty tough year in the mortgage business and while there have been some really stressful times, overall my business has been great and for that I'm thankful. There are so many in this business that are out of work or who have gone out of business entirely, my thoughts are with them. I am very thankful for the people in my team, each one of them bring something special and their love for this business shows.
We have been blessed with so many great business relationships and I am thankful for all the Realtors, Title companies, and Appraisers that we work with and help us bring the best home buying experience that we can.
There are so many people who are hungry, ill, homeless, victims of horrible crimes or that are going through hard times. I am thankful to be able to see the hope that people have, even in the face of great adversity and I'm grateful for the opportunities to help when I can.
Finally, I am grateful for all the people, friends and family members that I have been blessed to know and have as a part of my life. I am grateful for the time I had with my late friend and the best man at my wedding, Eric Kos. My family and I are so blessed to be a part of Eric's family, we love them so very much. I am thankful for memories we have of him.
Happy Thanksgiving!
